Why is there an unspecified location on the Bins/Jobs tab of a finished good?

The system tracks what is allocated, on hand and on order by location. For on hand, this is displayed on the Bins tab (Click on Bins). For the others, you can click on Order, Jobs, Allocated to see the details of each of these numbers by location or for all locations.  The Unspecified Location was created in order to illustrate that the Allocated option has not yet been allocated to be Shipped From a specific location.

There are two reasons why a quantity would show as "Allocated" in an unspecified location:



Reason #1 - There is an order with an unshipped quantity, but no scheduled release specifying where that quantity is planned to ship from.
How To Resolve:  Add a release for the item with a valid ship from.

Reason #2 - There is a scheduled release for the unshipped quantity, but the "ship from" location is not one of the selected/managed locations for that particular item.
How To Resolve:  Add a location using the " + Add New Location" button on item within I-F-1 on the Bins/Job tab.  Add a location for the Ship From that is not included in the current location list for that item.



  1. Go to the Bins tab and see what the Location is for the material on hand. It will show on hand in a location that is not main warehouse.  That is warehouse "MAIN" in this example.
  2. To see this location, you need to click on + Add Location and add that location.
