To set default warehouse and bin locations for both finished goods and raw materials please review the NK1 system control parameters noted below for each. These system control parameters are set within the menu navigation of N-K-1. Then search for the noted parameter.
Finished Goods
System Parameter: FGWHSBIN
Function: The value established in the "Character" field will
dictate the logic for the default warehouse and bin location when creating new
finished goods items as well as Finished Goods Receipts via Advantzware, Touch
Screen, Sharp Shooter or Load Tag Creation.
Note: Alternatively,
press F1 to pick a warehouse and bin location that will be used as the default
for all finished goods items.
Below is a summary of what each value used in the "Character" field will do
Character Value = AUTOPOST
This option will actually look to the system parameter "AUTOPOST" for its character value options of FGFile or Shipto. When the N-K-1 AutoPost character value =
FGFile, then the warehouse location
imports from existing finished goods items On Hand Bin/Job tab, hence assuming
that new receipts should be placed into the existing on hand location. This may be a problem for customers with
multiple warehouse location because they receive into manufacturing plant then
transfer to the remote warehouse, hence should set this option to FGITEM.
Character Value = Warehouse /
Bin Location
This option will allow a user to select F1 to search valid Finished Goods warehouse and bin location
from the Warehouse / Bin Location file via hot keys I-F-4. This must be a combination of the 5
characters warehouse and the 8 character bin location. Therefore, if the default location is MAIN
and FLOOR, then the user must enter the space so the character value will read
MAIN FLOOR. The first 5 characters must
exist in the warehouse file and the next 8 characters must exist in the bin
location.
Character
Value = FGITEM
This option will default the finished goods
receipts directly from the FG items "view" tab filed labeled warehouse and
bin. If the item’s warehouse and bin
are blank, then the warehouse and bin will transfer from customer with a status
of (X) InHouse. The program will import
the ship to warehouse and bin location.
In summary, first priority is to pull from the finished goods item from
the VIEW tab, regardless of where the item is currently located.
Raw Materials:
System Parameter: RMWHSBIN
Function: The value established in the "Character" field will dictate the default location for all items during the creation of
raw material receipts via Advantzware, Sharp Shooter or Load Tag Creation
Below is a summary of what each value used in the "Character" field will do
Character Value = Warehouse /
Bin Location
This option will allow a user to select F1 to search valid Raw Material warehouse and bin location from
the Warehouse / Bin Location file via hot keys M-F-6. This must be a combination of the 5 character
warehouse and the 8 character bin location.
Therefore, if the default location is MAIN and FLOOR, then the user must
enter the space so the character value will read MAIN FLOOR. The first 5 characters must exist in the
warehouse file and the next 8 characters must exist in the bin location.
Character Value - RMITEM
This
will transfer the Warehouse and Bin Location from the items M-F-1 Raw Material
File – Inventory Tabs Warehouse and Bin Location fields. you always store the goods at a specific
location, the program will find the existing location.
